More folk

Josephine Rais’s art is a confetti cannon of pure, unadulterated joy.

It enshrines her muses: women, queer culture, pop art and food – a vibrant world where we finally get to build the future right. Her Berlin studio is nourished by strawberry matcha, spicy noodles, and the comforting presence of her cat. From this haven, Rais channels a kaleidoscope of influences: the rush of anime, pop music and the escapism of Lord of the Rings. The results explode with Fauvist-bright hues and the bold graphics of Pop Art.

It’s a canon that’s enchanted a global roster of clients including Adidas, Adobe, Apple, TikTok, Lululemon, Xbox, and Coca-Cola. Even as she stars in a global Essie nail care campaign and splashes golden hues across a 30-meter Hong Kong mural for Ying’nFlo, her practice remains deeply personal. “Drawing has always been more than just a skill,” she confides. “It's been a way of coping, expressing, and even surviving.” With dreams of bringing her vision to everything from basketball courts to entire houses, she's cooking up a more wondrous reality for us all.

What makes you different?

“My work is a direct reflection of my feelings, my values, and the world I want to see.”

“I love creating visual spaces for people and stories that deserve to be celebrated.”
